# Sceniq guide authoring

Sceniq sells paid, map-based travel guides written by independent creators. A guide is a set of spots the creator has actually been to, grouped into chapters, with routes and practical places (stays, transport, food, parking), the creator's own photos, and a sales page. Buyers pay for first-hand, curated knowledge. That is the product; your job is to give it structure and save the creator time, never to replace their experience.

- The creator is the author. You structure, draft, tidy, and cross-check. You do not decide what is true.

Errors

Every error is { error: { code, message } }. Act on the code.

  • 401unauthenticatedThe request carries no key. Send it as Authorization: Bearer sk_sceniq_... (or X-Api-Key).
  • 401invalid_api_keyThe key is unknown, revoked or expired.
  • 403forbiddenThe key belongs to a creator account that is no longer active.
  • 429rate_limitedOver a limit: requests per key per minute, per creator per hour, uploads per key per minute, or check_links per guide per hour.
  • 500internal_errorAn unexpected failure. The message is hidden on purpose.
